The Journey Begins...
“The Only Journey is the One Within” -Rainer Maria Rilke

Often the most difficult part of working towards any goal or traveling any journey is the beginning. Finding the courage to take the first step. Coming up with a plan that will generate success. Stressing over the difficulties that will come while completing the challenge. Overcoming the fear of the unknown. Trusting in yourself and your own capabilities. Adapting to change. Where do I start? How do I begin? Where is this going to take me? We have all experienced it. Everyone has goals, desires, and dreams that sit with dusty cobwebs in the corner of the mind, collecting grubby mothballs as the slowly die, unfulfilled. And why? Because the largest hurdle was never crossed, the START line. I have a goal dream. And like many others, I have NO idea where to even begin.
Based on my short, twenty-something years of life experience, I have developed the conclusion that the sole purpose of life is to be lived. To experience. While I recognize that when it comes to life overall, I understand and have learned very little, I do know that the key to a happy and successful life is to truly invest yourself in experiencing everything you can. Emotionally, Intellectually, Physically, Socially, Mentally, Occupationally, Spiritually. Experience it. Experience in every way possible. Experience life.

Sure, there have been a few a lot of things that I wish I did not have to experience. Pain and misery, heartbreak and challenges, but without those experiences I could not truly appreciate the beautiful things about life. Life has the capability of being so completely beautiful, we should not ruin it by being afraid of experiencing it for fear of hardships and difficulities along the way. My daddy used to tell me,

“The things you will regret the most, are the things that you DON’T do. You will hardly regret doing. Sure, you might mess up, make mistakes, and have to repent or put out fires every once in a while, but at the end of your life, when all is said and done, the things you will look back on and regret will be the things you chose NOT to do.”

(Yes, my daddy is incredibly smart and yes, I am the luckiest girl out there that he is my daddy!)

Life is not to be lived by sitting down and doing nothing (although on occasion doing nothing is my favorite way to experience relaxation!) Life is supposed to be about learning, trying new things, meeting people, discovering your abilities, developing your talents, and ultimately, finding what makes you happy. My dream is to live a life full of experiences, and to help everyone around me to live a life full of experiences. Every person might have different needs, desires, and goals, but whatever it is that we all hope to achieve, the key is to actually begin.
Today I am taking the first step towards my goal of living the full life I desire by starting this blog. I have always loved learning, reading, and writing, and for several years now have considered starting up a blog just for my own entertainment, as my own kind of journal, and have just never actually done it. As Walt Disney says, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” So today, right now, I am officially opening up my blog. This blog marks the first step on my journey to live life to the fullest. I will write down on paper online the (mis)adventures that I have, the nifty-tricks and life-hacks-to-an-easier-life I come across, and express my creativity by exploring the things I love—Art, Fashion, Parenting Tricks, Health, All Things Pink, Service Projects, Travel, Saving Money……the list could go on forever and I am starting to sound boring so… you get the idea.
And so…the journey begins…
